Why I started Heartland Concierge Services

It has been a few years since I lost my parents. At the time, I was living in La Crosse, Wisconsin, while my parents were in Fairway, Kansas. As their primary support, I spent many hours traveling back and forth, doing my best to be present for them, especially in the later years when they could no longer care for themselves.

That experience shaped me deeply. I understand firsthand how important it is to know that your parents are safe, supported, and cared for during a vulnerable season of life. Heartland Concierge Services was built out of that understanding.

While we can never take your place, our goal is to serve as a consistent and trusted presence alongside you, providing support, awareness, and reassurance when you cannot always be there yourself. I consider it a privilege to serve in that capacity.

A husband-and-wife team

Heartland is run by Kim and Derek Cortez, a married team based in the La Crosse area. Our role is to provide consistent interaction, careful observation, and clear communication, so you can feel confident in how things are going day to day.

We aim to notice what others might miss, provide clarity where there may be uncertainty, and support you in navigating this season with confidence.
